STOWE WINE AND FOOD CLASSIC
VERMONT’S PREMIER EPICUREAN FESTIVAL
JUNE 22-24, 2012
The Stowe Wine & Food Classic is the annual signature event of Stowe Charities Inc. It will be held once again at Trapp Family Lodge, a 2,500 acre premier resort nestled in the mountains above the village of Stowe, Vermont. This three-day epicurean festival, running June 22-24, 2012, features signature dishes from Vermont’s leading chefs paired with top-rated wines from around the world. Proceeds of this year’s event will benefit Copley Hospital and the Vermont Foodbank.
The 2012 events include:
Friday Evening Wine Tasting
The public is invited to a spectacular wine tasting at the dramatic West Branch Gallery & Sculpture Park, where we will compare and contrast several outstanding wines presented by Fine Wine Cellars. Tickets are $75 per person.
Saturday Afternoon Tastings
This year we will be featuring two culinary adventures for those interested in learning more about Vermont’s gastronomic treasures from local food experts. Cheese aficionados can sample Vermont’s best cheeses paired with wines selected and introduced by Matt Jennings, the Northeast’s well-known cheese expert.
The oyster and wine pairing hosted by Rowan Jacobsen is back by popular demand. With the 2011 event selling out in less than two weeks, we decided to make this event available first to our Gala dinner attendees before opening it up to the public.
Saturday Evening Gala Dinner & Auction
The Gala Dinner, Dance, & Fine Wine Auction will once again be held under the stars at the world-renowned Trapp Family Lodge. Guests will enjoy an exquisite five-course dinner prepared by Trapp Family Lodge Executive Chef Kim Lambrechts along with wine pairings from the event’s featured wineries, the father/son duo of Joel Peterson of Ravenswood Winery and Morgan Twain Peterson of Bedrock Wine Company. Joel and Morgan will introduce and discuss the wines paired with each entrée. Tickets are $195 per person.
Sunday Afternoon Grand Tasting
The Grand Tasting features more than 100 premium wines and world-class culinary selections from Vermont’s top chefs. The event tent includes cooking demonstrations by renowned chefs, such as Dino Giordano from the Lord Jeffrey Inn in Amherst, Massachusetts; and tasting sessions with our featured wineries. The Vermont Pavilion showcases the finest Vermont-grown culinary treats and “farm-to-table” chefs and restaurants. Wander the tent, taste wines, enjoy gastronomic delights, attend seminars and demos, and bid on our many silent auction items. Tickets are $60 per person. The Saturday/Sunday combined ticket price is $230 per person.
